Kegel exercises are also known as pelvic floor exercises or PC muscle exercises. PC muscles are a web-like sling of muscles that extend from the pubic bone to the coccyx, enveloping the genital and anal areas. They’re also the same muscles that automatically contract during orgasm, so strengthening the PC muscles can help you have increased control and intensity with your orgasms. While you can do these exercises without kegel balls, these weights and biofeedback devices give you a little something extra to resist against. And contrary to popular myth, “tightness” is not the goal here — strong PC muscles can both expand AND contract, but tightness causes pain and discomfort (and makes penetration very difficult.) We also recommend using lube with these toys to cut down on friction. Read the descriptions and reviews for more insight into each one.
