Fun Factory is a company known for its quality, ethics, and unique insertable toys, so no one expected them to release a wand-style vibrator. But I’d say it’s one of the most exciting toy releases as of late. It created a huge buzz when its release was announced at one of the recent sex toy trade shows. It was rumbly, quiet, light, and had quite a few other unique features, on top of being from a brand that’s a favorite of mine and many of my friends and sex educator pals.
Wand vibrators are great for so many reasons. They have wide heads for broad stimulation, longer battery life, are easy to use on all bodies, and, most notably, are powerful because of their large, powerful motors. Since wand-style vibrators have been around for over half a century, the original Magic Wand gained popularity in the late ’60s, and quite a few changes have been made to the already excellent sex toy design. Think smaller, more portable versions, flexible heads, and even more powerful motors. So when Fun Factory said the VIM was “the world’s first weighted rumble wand” with an edging program, obviously as the Queen of Wands, I needed to try it.

How Strong Is The VIM?
VIM is up there as one of the more powerful rechargeable wands I’ve ever tried, but what sets it apart is that it is much more rumbly, maintaining its low pitch and thuddy sensations. It’s comparably as strong as the magic wand, and the motor remains rumbly even at more powerful speeds. The motor is powerful and penetrating, and even at the lowest intensity, you can feel it getting deep into the body rather than (sometimes itchy) buzzy surface-level vibrations. Five steady speeds also mean there is way more of a gradual build between the intensity settings, especially between the second and third settings, where many manufacturers seem to struggle. You can also turn it even lower than the standard settings and truly control the intensities of all the patterns by holding it down to micro-adjust the intensity. This also means it has way more than just five-intensity settings.
Is It Loud?
While many wands can be extremely loud because of how powerful the motor is, VIM’s unique weighted motor keeps it balanced and may be the quietest wand I’ve ever tested. Seriously, I don’t know how they got something so powerful to be so quiet. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not entirely silent, but it’s as close as something that vibrates can possibly be. So if noise is a concern for you, this might be a game changer.
About The Weight Of The VIM
While it is a full-sized wand-style vibrator, it’s incredibly light. Despite its full-size wand status, the VIM wand is lightweight. It’s only 0.95 lbs compared to the Magic Wand, which weighs 1.3 lbs. While not the lightest wand available by any means, it’s lighter than most other full-sized wands available on the market. The VIM wants to balance in your hand, while most other wands tend to have all their weight in their head. Its evenly-weighted design helps it feel easier to hold and maneuver during play and to keep pressed against the body, even if you’re in a more acrobatic sex position. This can help reduce wrist fatigue compared to heavier wands in almost any position that isn’t laying down.
How About That Texture?
The soft swirls on the head might be my favorite feature of the VIM. The textured head is designed to hold onto lube and does that well. The texture is made of soft silicone, which adds some padding and squish if you enjoy grinding against your vibrators. The handle is also covered in a layer of textured silicone, which makes it easier to grip, harder to drop, as well as softer to hold in my hand. The handle is also noticeably thinner than most wands, making it easier to control. Just keep in mind if you have very sensitive skin, no matter how soft the texture is, grinding against it might irritate your intimate skin.
Since the VIM is splashproof and not waterproof, and this texturing has a lot of bumps, it makes it slightly more labor-intensive to clean than wands with a smooth head. It’s not significantly harder, but you will notice if you don’t do a good thorough clean. The dried lube leftover in the bumps can be apparent after the wand massager has dried. Not a dealbreaker for me, but if you’re someone who plays gets messy and knows they aren’t going to do a thorough clean, it’s something to keep in mind.

But, I think the VIM compensates thanks to its weighted head. So the VIM is well-weighted even when its neck is bending as far as it can bend.
The Patterns Are Actually Really Good
You’re probably rolling your eyes since most people don’t like patterns, but the VIM’s pulsing and escalation patterns are really good. It’s almost like the folks at Fun Factory know what they’re doing. These aren’t buzzy, annoying Morse code settings. They’re patterns with a musicality that contain crescendos and decrescendos and remain powerful for enough time to reach climax before going to other speeds or patterns. They truly did think about the patterns, and each is considered a “journey,” even more impressive, you can control the intensity of each pattern by long-pressing the (+) or (-) button.
