Foreplay and Warm-Up

Relaxation is key to anal play because it can help your sphincters relax. Set the tone with plenty of foreplay. Consider showering the booty with different types of attention like spanking, caressing, or rimming. Fingers or butt plugs can help work your way up to using a dildo. Vibrating plugs can be used externally in addition to being worn internally. Anal training kits and dilators are excellent tools for warm-up.

WE RECOMMEND

Choosing the Right Dildo

Your anal dildo should have a flared base to prevent it from getting pulled into the body and hold it in place in the harness. A dildo with a tapered tip like the Vixen Vibrating Mistress will be easier to insert. For prostate or g-spot play, try a dildo with a curved head. Double-ended dildos are great if both partners enjoy penetration. Size, shape, firmness, and color are all personal preferences. Dildos made of nonporous materials are the easiest to clean.

How to Choose a Harness

Fabric harnesses are washable and many are made to resemble underwear and come in a range of sizes and styles for a comfortable fit. Leather harnesses and Leather harnesses are usually adjustable around the legs and hips. Make sure the opening of your harness fits the dildo you want to use. Some harnesses have interchangeable o-rings that hold the dildo in place. Stabilizers can also add stability.

WE RECOMMEND

Lube Up!

Lubrication is essential with anal play because the butt doesn’t self-lubricate. Use plenty of lube to prevent microabrasions and provide a smooth glide. Water-based gels are great for anal and all toys. Silicone lubes are slick and long-lasting, but can’t be used with silicone toys. Hybrid lubes generally feel silky and last a little longer than water-based lubes. Oil lubricants are great for anal but will break down latex.
